Pricing Manager - Strategy & Analytics - Sydney, CBD

Purpose 

  • To provide the business with a holistic view of pricing across markets and product portfolios
  • To deliver incremental and sustainable commercial value through sophisticated analytics, data science and reporting
  • To inform contract management, end customer marketing and segmentation with high quality customer analytics & insights
  • To work across business lines and academic disciplines applying domain knowledge and commercial expertise to inform pricing and portfolio management

Strategy

  • Provide a holistic view of pricing and business planning across the B2B and B2C portfolio, including recommendations on strategy planning, strategic projects, M&A, pricing and various analytics and experimentation
  • Lead centralised pricing activities for price segmentation modelling, pricing analysis & modelling and Market, Customer and Competitor insight
  • Develop pricing SLAs and KPIs to drive accountability for pricing decisions, behaviours, price setting protocols, contract & tender management and reporting

Tactics

  • Analyse model performance and recommend enhancements
  • Align PROS and AI systems and analytics to business plans and KPIs
  • Build insightful customer focused solutions for pricing, risk management and business innovation

Operations:

  • Leverage latest tools and techniques data science and optimisation to deliver market leading and sustainable commercial results
  • Monitor, evaluate and guide evolving pricing strategies and tactics across B2B and B2C at deal, customer, product and portfolio level

The Individual 

  • Predictive Modelling including linear Models, Non-linear models, multivariate analysis, Bayesian Methods, decision trees; simulations, machine learning, etc.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardisation exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Proven record of results in highly analytical, adaptive and complex business settings
  • Reliance on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Strong programming ability and familiarity with big data tools and software
  • SAS programming experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft word processing software
  • Proficiency on applicable databases, systems and vendor software programs; data mining, research and cleansing
  • Ability to read, analyse, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical manuals, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to negotiate, write and interpret business correspondence, reports and procedure manuals
  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely in both written and oral formats
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the CLT, GMs, decision forums and customers
  • Actuarial accreditation highly desired
  • Proven record of results in highly analytical, adaptive and complex business settings
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented with proven ability to multi-task

  • 10+ years’ experience analysing and comparing different industries, consideration of historic trends, and an understanding of financial metrics and regulatory/legal restrictions
  • 10+ years’ experience in data analytics and providing insights that continuously improve delivery
  • Extensive experience using software applications and IT systems that attribute portfolio performance
  • Ability to translate analytical results into practical business solutions
  • Good knowledge of technology and IT infrastructure (desirable)
  • Solid experience in project and portfolio data gathering and reporting
  • Ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders to ensure proper implementation of price improvement recommendations
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and independently
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Extremely organised with strong sense of priority, urgency and commitment to deadlines
  • The ability to provide decisive actions and responses in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and manage multiple projects
